International Seafood Company has inked on a usufruct agreement on the 5th of September 2021 for its upcoming project land in Duqm with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones to establish a complex for canning of Tuna & Sardines and other marine products.
The factory will be located in the Fisheries Industries Zone, near to the upcoming Fisheries Port, that’s designed in accordance to the latest specifications, standards of quality and international food safety, with a production capacity of 27 thousand tons per year, subject to future expansion, with an estimated total cost of 30 million Omani Riyals.
This project is one of the outputs of the laboratories of the Tanfeedh Program to maximize the return on the fisheries resources in which the Sultanate abounds. The factory will contribute to Oman’s GDP through the local supply chains, from which many Omani medium companies will benefit, as well as it will create about 600 specialized and support jobs.
